About the ATOM Coalition
The Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition is a global initiative led by UICC, in collaboration with over 40 partners from the private and civil society sectors. The ATOM Coalition focuses on reducing cancer-related suffering and deaths by addressing barriers to the availability, affordability, and appropriate use of oncology medicines in low- and lower-middle-income countries (LLMICs). The Coalition aims to strengthen the capacity of countries and systems, increase the availability of essential generics and biosimilars, and enable access to innovative medicines.
Summary of the Position

- Assess pain points and opportunities in the supply chain specific to cancer medicines and diagnostics, providing insights to the country support team and industry partners.
- Adapt the go-to-market strategy as necessary.
- Leverage market analysis data to inform global efforts, discussions, and outcomes.
- Employ horizon scanning to track evolving payer archetypes across key markets, facilitating scenario planning for reimbursement.
- Build country-specific access roadmaps, integrating horizon scanning, market dynamics, scenario planning, and reimbursement options, in close collaboration with the country support team.
- Work with coalition partners, including sustainable access pathway partners, to share data, extract insights, and co-create solutions.
- Monitor regulatory and pricing environments to propose solutions for enhancing affordability and timely availability of medicines and diagnostics.
