State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility

Our multi-purpose manufacturing facility in Lengnau is designed for large-scale production of biologics and offers significant expansion potential. Upon completion of construction, our site will feature highly flexible biomanufacturing technologies, ranging from development to large-scale production, utilizing stainless steel equipment to satisfy our customer needs.

Position Overview

This role is integral to the production of recombinant products through the operation of automated production equipment. You will support project teams in the design, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new production lines for recombinant products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the manufacturing suites during your shift, including the daily schedule.
  • Execute manufacturing activities in both Upstream Processing (USP) and Downstream Processing (DSP).
  • Own and maintain Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) within your area.
  • Support Manufacturing Excellence to ensure operations run robustly and smoothly.
  • Contribute to the definition of robust process parameters during routine manufacturing campaigns.
  • Participate in New Product Introduction activities.
  • Ensure training and compliance records are current.
  • Uphold Thermo Fisher Scientific values and adhere to ethics and legal compliance standards.
  • Take personal accountability for your presence, performance, and productivity in achieving defined objectives.
  • Adhere to Environmental Health and Safety Standards (EHSS) including legal requirements, rules, policies, procedures, and instructions for your area of responsibility.
  • Contribute to EHSS initiatives, including near-miss reporting and follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, food science, or chemistry.
  • Proficiency in English or German.
  • 1-3 years of successful experience in pharmaceutical operations within a GMP-relevant environment.
  • First-hand experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work on a shift rotation model, including regular weekend and public holiday commitments.
  • On-call duties will be expected according to planning needs.
