Job Description
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing our SAP team, consisting of both functional and technical staff across various geographies and time zones. This position requires close collaboration with matrix managers to ensure seamless operations.
Main Tasks
- Manage and nurture the SAP team (7 direct reports + 7 in matrix).
- Lead our SAP solution, overseeing daily operations, roadmap, and strategy.
- Act as the delivery manager for all SAP solutions, including change requests, projects, incident management, process optimization/automation, and user support.
- Establish solid working relationships with business stakeholders and gain an understanding of segment business models.
- Represent the SAP perspective within the global Burckhardt compression architecture and relevant boards and user communities.
- Apply industry best practices in ERP demand management, change management, and agile operations to enhance the broader operating model.
- Promote the SAP landscape to function heads to encourage broad buy-in.
- Drive cultural change towards user adoption of digital processes and tools.
- Manage suppliers, contracts, and budgets related to the SAP landscape in close collaboration with other delivery managers, architecture teams, and legal entities.
- Support the transformation of the SAP architecture towards cloud consumption and SAP S4/Hana migration.
- Advise senior stakeholders on solutions to business challenges.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as computer science or business administration, or equivalent professional qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP, with certification in at least one of the following modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, PP.
- Experience in building and leading a SAP Competence Centre.
- Significant experience managing an SAP system, including support and project management, with multiple implementations.
- A proven track record in S4/Hana system design, setup, implementation, and rollout, especially migrating from SAP ECC to S4/Hana in a multi-geography setup.
- Extensive experience managing teams of permanent staff, consultants, and contractors (both onshore and possibly offshore).
- Leadership experience with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with senior leadership and confidence in communicating at all levels.
- Preferably, experience in an engineering-focused industrial or manufacturing business.

- Full proficiency in English (business fluent at a contractual level) is essential.
- Good German language skills are advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity skills, with the ability to plan and organize effectively.
- Pro-active approach with a convincing demeanor and diplomatic communication skills.
- Able to guide and advise others to enhance their performance.
