Main Responsibilities of the Role

As a leader in our organization, you will:

  • Manage and develop the SAP team (7 direct reports and 7 in a matrix) consisting of functional and technical staff across different geographies and time zones, while closely collaborating with matrix managers.
  • Take charge of our SAP solution, providing leadership for daily operations, roadmap planning, and strategic direction.
  • Act as a delivery manager for all solutions delivered, including change requests, projects, incident management, process optimization/automation, and user support.
  • Establish strong working relationships with business stakeholders and develop a comprehensive understanding of various business models within the segment.
  • Represent the SAP perspective within the global Burckhardt compression architecture, business process ecosystem, relevant boards, and user communities.
  • Implement industry best practices for ERP demand management and change management, contributing to the establishment of an efficient operating model across the group.
  • Raise standards and promote the SAP landscape to function heads for broad buy-in.
  • Drive cultural change towards the adoption of digital processes and tools among users.
  • Manage suppliers, contracts, and budgets allocated to the SAP landscape, collaborating closely with other delivery managers, the architecture team, Procurement, Legal, and more.
  • Actively support the transformation of the SAP architecture towards cloud consumption and the migration to SAP S4/HANA.
  • Advise senior stakeholders on solutions for business challenges.

Your Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge and SAP certification in at least one of the following modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, PP.
  • Experience in building, leading, and developing a SAP Competence Centre.
  • Significant experience in managing a SAP system that includes support and project management, along with multiple implementations.
  • A proven track record in S4/HANA system design, setup, implementation, and rollout, particularly in migrating from an SAP ECC to an S4/HANA system in a multi-geography setup.
  • Experience managing teams that include permanent staff, consultants, and contractors (onshore and potentially offshore).
  • Leadership experience with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred experience in an engineering-focused industrial or manufacturing business.

Your Personality

  • Full proficiency in English (business fluent at a contractual level) is essential.
  • Good German language skills are an advantage.
  • Interpersonal and cultural sensitivity, along with planning and organizing skills to utilize these effectively both independently and as part of a strong team.
  • A proactive approach with a convincing demeanor and diplomatic communication skills.
  • Able to guide and advise others to improve various situations.
