Job Description
We are seeking a qualified candidate to lead our SAP team and drive our SAP strategy forward. This role involves managing a team of functional and technical staff across various geographies and time zones, working closely with matrix managers.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the SAP team (7 direct reports + 7 in a matrix structure).
- Oversee our SAP solutions, providing leadership for daily operations, roadmap, and strategy.
- Act as delivery manager for all solutions provided, including change requests, projects, incident management, process optimization, and user support.
- Establish strong working relationships with business stakeholders and understand segment business models.
- Represent the SAP perspective within the global Burckhardt compression architecture, business process ecosystem, and relevant boards and user communities.
- Implement industry best practices in ERP demand management, change management, and agile operations to enhance the group-wide operational model.
- Promote SAP landscape standards to function heads to ensure broad buy-in.
- Drive cultural change that encourages user adoption of digital processes and tools.
- Manage suppliers, contracts, and budget for the SAP landscape, collaborating closely with other delivery managers, the architecture team, Procurement, Legal, and other stakeholders.
- Support the transformation of SAP architecture towards cloud consumption and SAP S4/Hana migration.
- Advise senior stakeholders on solutions to business challenges.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Business Administration, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP, certified in at least one of the following modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, PP.
- Experience building, leading, and developing a SAP Competence Centre.
- Significant experience managing a SAP system, including support and project management, with a number of successful implementations.
- Proven track record in S4/Hana system design, setup, implementation, and rollout, particularly migrating from SAP ECC to S4/Hana in a multi-geographic setup.
- Experience managing teams that include permanent staff, consultants, and contractors (both on and possibly off-shore).
- Leadership experience with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
- Confidence in communicating with senior leadership and all levels of an organization.
- Experience in an engineering-focused industrial or manufacturing business is preferred.

- Full proficiency in English (business fluent at a contractual level) is essential; good German language skills are an advantage.
