The locally anchored Water and Electricity Utility Steinhausen AG (WESt) supplies around 10,000 residents and numerous businesses in Steinhausen with electricity and drinking water. For over 100 years, we have delivered services reliably, economically, and environmentally friendly. Additionally, WESt offers innovative and customer-friendly solutions in connectivity and communication. Our dedicated team of 14 motivated employees works diligently to ensure a secure supply and a sustainable infrastructure, presenting a range of diverse tasks, short decision-making processes, and a collaborative work environment.

About the Position

We are seeking a solution-oriented and responsible individual for the role of Managing Director. In this position, you will report directly to the Board of Directors, providing regular updates to its president and supporting strategic topics. Your responsibilities will include:

• Personnel and business management
• Forming the executive management team alongside the administrative director
• Overseeing the eight employees in the technical office, water network construction, electricity network construction, and metering services
• Planning expansion and renovation projects to ensure the long-term development of the networks
• Taking on operational responsibility for larger construction and renovation projects
• Maintaining close contact with the municipality and supporting business clients
• Fostering partnerships with surrounding utility companies and civil engineering firms

Qualifications

We are looking for a motivated and goal-oriented individual with a technical background, such as a network electrician or electrical installer, complemented by business management training. Key qualifications include:

• Leadership experience and practical knowledge in electricity and water supply, including the regulatory framework of utility and water supply companies
• Familiarity with planning and implementing infrastructure projects
• A proven track record of experience as a project manager
• Solid knowledge in budgeting, financial planning, controlling, and investment planning
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
