Position: Maintenance Manager

W Talent is proud to exclusively partner with a dynamic manufacturing business located in South Sheffield, near Chesterfield. We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their team in this pivotal and exciting new role. This position offers the potential for quick progression into Engineering Management.

Initially, you will oversee a team of four Maintenance Engineers, with the role expected to grow and evolve as the business continues to expand. This opportunity is ideal for a Team Leader looking to advance their career or an experienced Maintenance Manager eager to make a significant impact within a thriving organization.

The Role

As a Maintenance Manager, you will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for leading and supporting the maintenance function. Your goal will be to ensure that machinery, equipment, and production facilities remain operational in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers.
  • Plan and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
  • Manage reactive maintenance issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Assist with fault finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • Ensure health & safety standards and engineering procedures are upheld.
  • Support engineering projects, installations, and machinery upgrades.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should ideally possess:

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor, or Engineering Team Leader position.
  • A strong background in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in industries such as FMCG, Food & Beverage, Plastics, Heavy Engineering, or Automotive.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring engineers.
  • Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.

What's on Offer

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £55,000, depending on experience. You will work Monday to Friday in a days-based position situated in South Sheffield, near Chesterfield.
