Job Vacancy

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will work at the Livesey Street manufacturing site in Sheffield, within the Maintenance Engineering team that handles all daily maintenance activities. This role is suitable for a fully skilled, apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias. The ideal candidate will have experience in a heavy forge environment and possess a solid understanding of hydraulics and mobile plant maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Support the installation of new plant equipment.
• Plan mechanical maintenance tasks for scheduled shutdowns.
• Assist in the development and upgrading of existing equipment.
• Work safely and effectively in accordance with company safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department.

Qualifications and Experience

• Apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias.
• Experience in a heavy forge environment.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulics, ideally Oilgear Tower.
• Skills in mobile plant maintenance, including manipulators, FLTs, and OHC.
• Experience in breakdown maintenance on presses, hammers, lathes, and bores is preferred.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger Maintenance team.

Salary Information

This exciting Maintenance Fitter position offers a competitive salary of £21.47 per hour for a 37.5-hour working week, which equates to approximately £41,866.50 per annum.
