W Talent is currently collaborating with a dynamic manufacturing business in Doncaster that is seeking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their engineering team. This role is hands-on and situated within a busy manufacturing environment, where you will be tasked with ensuring machinery operates efficiently, performing general maintenance, and engaging in various improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize production downtime.
• Work with fast-moving manufacturing machinery in a high-paced production setting.
• Complete general maintenance and mechanical fitting duties.
• Perform TIG welding and fabrication work as needed.
• Support machinery modifications, repairs, and enhancements.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams to address issues swiftly.
• Ensure that all maintenance work is executed safely and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work completed.

Key Requirements

We are looking for candidates residing in Doncaster, Sheffield, or the surrounding areas, who possess a strong practical engineering background and are comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or in a similar role.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience with fast-moving production machinery.
• TIG welding experience, essential or highly desirable.
• Good mechanical fitting and fabrication skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of an engineering team.
• A genuine interest in enhancing machinery and processes rather than merely fixing problems as they arise.
