The Position

We are seeking a well-qualified, experienced, and flexible candidate who is a strong team player and capable of thriving in a dynamic and stimulating teaching environment. The Learning Support Teacher collaborates with students, their families, the School Student Support Teams, and faculty, empowering students to become self-directed learners and strong self-advocates. The Learning Support Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies tailored for a diverse range of learners. The successful candidate will join a team of educators and therapists providing multiple levels of service and individualized support for students both within grade-level homerooms and subject classes, as well as in a specialized setting.

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree (or equivalent certification) in Special Education and a valid special education teaching credential
• A commitment to delivering high-quality education for children facing significant challenges
• At least three years of experience working in mainstream or special schools with students who have additional significant learning needs
• Experience in developing, implementing, and revising individual educational plans, monitoring student progress, and supporting mainstream single-subject teachers
• Familiarity with common educational assessments for the purpose of evaluating student competency levels and/or formulating individual learning plans
• Experience in delivering a range of literacy and numeracy interventions
• Confidence with assistive technologies and using 1:1 devices
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals to support student inclusion
• German language skills would be desirable
