Freight & Logistics Coordinator

This company is known for supplying innovative, high-quality products across the UK retail and international markets. They are currently seeking a Freight & Logistics Coordinator to join their Supply Chain and Logistics team at the Redditch site.

The Role

As a Freight & Logistics Coordinator, you will assist in maintaining the seamless operation of shipping and transport activities. You will work closely with the wider Supply Chain team to coordinate deliveries, prepare necessary documentation, and communicate with carriers and various internal departments. This role provides hands-on experience in both domestic and international logistics, with guidance from the Head of Logistics and the broader team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Book transport with freight forwarders, couriers, and carriers.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including delivery notes, invoices, and export paperwork.
  • Track shipments and assist in resolving any delays or delivery issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments in internal systems (ERP/TMS).
  • Support customs and export documentation processes as needed.
  • Verify freight invoices against agreed rates.
  • Communicate with warehouse teams and 3PL providers regarding shipments.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of daily logistics activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Customer Service, and Finance teams.

Key Requirements

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or administration (training provided).
  • Genuine interest in freight, shipping, and international logistics.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Basic experience with systems such as ERP or Excel.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and a team player mentality.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary ranging from £28,000 to £30,000.
