We are looking for university graduates to join our Novartis Research & Development and Innovative Medicines Legal Teams for a legal traineeship (Volontariat) within the Global and Swiss legal departments in Basel. This traineeship presents an invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in a large international pharmaceutical corporation. Your Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working on various legal matters and projects related to pharmaceutical/healthcare laws, contract law, commercial law, licensing and transactions, and anti-trust law.
  • Providing advice on development, regulatory, digital, and commercial matters concerning the research & development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
  • Conducting legal research and drafting documents addressing various legal issues and disputes in private and public law areas.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a variety of agreements, including licensing, research collaborations, distribution, confidentiality, service, and consultancy contracts.
  • Offering legal support for various projects, such as contract templates, legal training, global guidelines and policies, and research collaborations, while interacting with Novartis's global, regional, and country legal and business stakeholders.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Education: Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) degree or Master of Law (MLaw) degree or equivalent from a Swiss university.
  • Languages: Proficient in German and English.
  • Experience: Ideally, candidates should have gained their first professional or internship experience.

Potential candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in legal issues within a major international pharmaceutical corporation, as well as a commitment to learning and discovering new insights.
