We are excited to offer two 6-month legal traineeship positions in our Legal Department for Corporate Functions. One position is set to begin on January 1, 2027, and the other on June 1, 2027.

About the Role

If you are interested in pursuing a career in law, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Our legal trainee position provides invaluable hands-on experience within a dynamic and multinational environment at a leading pharmaceutical company. At Novartis, over 70,000 unique individuals work together, each with different aspirations, united under the inspirational purpose of Reimagining Medicine for millions of patients worldwide.

We are looking for a motivated and diligent legal trainee who possesses the courage to navigate complex legal areas and the curiosity to engage with challenging legal questions. If you are passionate about making a difference and eager to launch your career within our in-house team, this role may be ideal for you.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will serve as a key member of our Legal team, providing essential advice on employment law, including issues related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, as well as assisting with litigation and investigations.
  • You will engage in practical tasks, managing individual legal cases and major projects, such as reorganizations, divestments, and the implementation of new policies and processes, including artificial intelligence. You will draft and review agreements, internal regulations, and templates—transforming theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
  • Your role will encompass in-depth legal research and the creation of comprehensive legal memoranda to distill complex ideas into clear insights that contribute to our shared success.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) and Master of Law (MLaw); the master's degree must be completed before the start date.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and German, both verbal and written.
  • High motivation and the ability to work independently on challenging tasks and projects.
  • Prior legal internship experience and knowledge in employment law are advantageous.
