Summary

About the Role

Are you interested in pursuing a dynamic career in law? Our legal trainee position provides an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on, in-house legal experience within a leading multinational pharmaceutical company. At Novartis, over 70,000 unique individuals collaborate towards a common goal: to Reimagine Medicine for millions of patients worldwide.

We are looking for motivated and diligent legal trainees who embrace the challenge of navigating through ambiguous legal landscapes. If you are curious and eager to learn, and genuinely passionate about making a difference, this role could be the perfect fit for you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as a vital support to our Legal team, providing essential advice in employment law, including matters related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, as well as litigation and investigation. You will engage with complex global and local issues, turning challenges into effective solutions.
  • Engage in practical tasks, managing individual legal cases and participating in major projects (e.g., reorganizations, divestments, implementation of new policies and processes, artificial intelligence, etc.). You will also be involved in drafting and reviewing agreements, internal regulations, and templates, allowing you to shift from theory to practical application and make a meaningful impact.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and develop legal memoranda to breakdown complex concepts into understandable insights, contributing to our collective success.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) and Master of Law (MLaw) – the Master’s degree must be completed before the start date.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and German, both verbal and written.
  • High motivation and capability to work independently on challenging tasks and projects.
  • Prior legal internship experience and knowledge in employment law is an advantage.
