Job Overview

The Restaurant Brands International (RBI) Legal Department is seeking a Legal Director for the EMEA region. This position is based in the Zug office and is ideal for a corporate lawyer with a minimum of six years of transactional legal experience. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and leading law firms across various jurisdictions in the EMEA region.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize legal agreements, including franchise agreements, development agreements, investment agreements, letter agreements, and other relevant documents, ensuring meticulous attention to detail while managing risk and maximizing protections and benefits for the business.
  • Provide support and guidance on franchise disclosure and registration requirements in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Coordinate legal opinions and advice from local counsel in various jurisdictions.
  • Deliver regular training on transactions, corporate, franchising, and other legal matters.
  • Assist business teams with daily matters, including drafting various letters and communications, interpreting legal documents, updating contract templates, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform other general legal and/or business duties as assigned or required by business needs.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Singapore, the US, England & Wales, or any Commonwealth country.
  • A minimum of 6 years of transactional experience in a leading law firm.
  • Working knowledge of advertising law, including consumer protection regulations and statutes within the European Union, along with experience in drafting and negotiating marketing and promotions-related agreements.
  • Exceptional judgment with the ability to identify, distill, and swiftly manage complex issues.
  • Excellent drafting skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong collaborative skills, enabling effective coordination with RBI attorneys worldwide, external counsel, business leaders, executives, and various business partners.
  • A positive attitude with the ability to thrive within teams and work across business functions and cultures, including remote teams across multiple time zones, while maintaining the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with a proven capacity to manage high-volume workloads and adhere to tight timelines, demonstrating a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to anticipate legal issues and risks, develop a legal strategy, and set objectives.
