Job Overview
The Restaurant Brands International (RBI) Legal Department is seeking a Legal Director for the EMEA region. This role, based in our Zug office, is ideal for a corporate lawyer with a minimum of six years of transactional legal experience. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and top law firms across jurisdictions in the EMEA region.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, negotiate, and finalize legal agreements, including franchise agreements, development agreements, investment agreements, and other relevant documents, ensuring a strong attention to detail while managing risk and maximizing protections and benefits to the business.
- Support and provide guidance on franchise disclosure and registration requirements in compliance with applicable laws.
- Coordinate legal opinions and advice from local counsel in various jurisdictions.
- Deliver regular training on transactions, corporate, franchising, and other legal matters.
- Assist business teams with day-to-day legal matters, including drafting letters and communications, interpreting legal documents, updating contract templates, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Perform other general legal and/or business duties as assigned based on business needs.
Your Skills and Experience
- Fully qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Singapore, the US, England & Wales, or any Commonwealth country.
- A minimum of 6 years of transactional experience at a leading law firm.
- Working knowledge of advertising law, including consumer protection regulations within the European Union, and experience in drafting and negotiating marketing and promotions-related agreements.
- Exceptional judgment with the ability to quickly identify, distill, and manage complex issues effectively.
- Excellent drafting skills and fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong collaborative skills, capable of coordinating with RBI attorneys globally, external counsel, business leaders and executives, business development colleagues, communications, finance, accounting, tax partners, and other advisors.
- A positive attitude with the capability to work well within teams across various functions and cultures, particularly with teams in multiple time zones, and the ability to act independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure while managing a high-volume workload and tight deadlines. Results-oriented.
- Ability to anticipate legal issues and risks, develop legal strategies, and set objectives.
