Position: Legal Counsel Media Rights

The Legal Team

Our Legal team plays a pivotal role in preparing transaction-related documentation while also supporting the development of commercial concepts, managing transactions, and delivering contracted rights. This team provides essential assistance concerning contracts and compliance across the organization.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Legal and Leadership teams on various media, broadcast, and operational initiatives, particularly in the exploitation of media rights for UEFA Men’s Club Competitions.
  • Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing media rights agreements along with other relevant legal documents.
  • Collaborating with Sales to facilitate rapid sales processes related to media rights, providing practical legal advice and streamlined solutions focused on contractual compliance.
  • Contributing to the development and ongoing management of TEAM’s legal documentation, especially regarding media rights agreements and tender materials.
  • Maintaining and updating TEAM’s legal knowledge portfolio, ensuring all materials are accurate and accessible.
  • Monitoring legal developments in key markets and coordinating with external counsel as necessary to ensure effective implementation of legal strategies.
  • Building and nurturing effective business relationships within the organization, as well as with clients and global stakeholders.

The Candidate

You possess the required academic qualifications, including a university degree and a professional qualification to practice law. With two to three years of post-qualification professional experience, you have honed strong skills in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly within the media rights arena.

Familiar with the sports industry and media rights landscape, you consistently uphold the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality. Experience across a wider array of media-related matters, including sponsorship and/or service agreements, is considered advantageous.

You excel in fast-paced environments, adeptly managing workload in line with business and client priorities while delivering reliable outcomes. You demonstrate a proactive approach, exercising sound judgment and making thoughtful decisions when necessary.

With well-developed analytical skills, you communicate effectively and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment. Additionally, you embody the following qualities:

The position is available in either TEAM’s Lucerne or London office and may involve some international travel.
