Key Responsibilities

The role of the Learning Support Assistant will involve the following tasks:

  • Providing individualized support to enable the student to access the curriculum and engage fully in learning activities.
  • Establishing a respectful and supportive relationship with the student while promoting confidence and independence.
  • Helping the student develop effective organization and executive functioning skills.
  • Assisting the student in understanding instructions and maintaining focus during lessons.
  • Promoting the student's social and emotional development and managing interpersonal situations.
  • Supporting transitions between lessons and developing appropriate study habits.
  • Encouraging increasing independence while providing necessary guidance.
