Job Purpose

Aiglon College is recognized for delivering a challenging and transformative holistic education within a safe, caring, and supportive environment. As a CIS accredited institution, we serve 480 students aged 7 to 18, representing 70 nations. Our educational philosophy is woven into the fabric of the school from the earliest years, with a dedicated focus on students in Years 2-8 as part of our Junior School.

The successful candidate will primarily support students in Years 7 and 8, with approximately 20-30 working hours per week. This position is term-time only.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support teaching staff in the educational development of pupils.
  • Assist individual students or groups, particularly those with EAL considerations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with individual pupils and groups.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans as needed.
  • Support pupils during learning activities.
  • Promote social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to the health and well-being of pupils.
  • Provide support for bilingual/multilingual pupils as appropriate.
  • Assist children with specific needs (sensory, cognitive, behavioral, etc.).
  • Support gifted and talented pupils.
  • Assist with literacy and numeracy skill development.
  • Help pupils access the curriculum and address personal care needs as applicable.
  • Observe and report on pupil performance and contribute to the planning of learning activities.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining the learning environment.
  • Help manage pupil behavior and maintain safety.
  • Supervise the class briefly in emergencies as needed.
  • Undertake routine marking and provide administrative support.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration within the school environment.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other professionals.
  • Liaise with parents as appropriate and engage in professional development activities.
  • Attend relevant staff meetings, parent evenings, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Uphold the ethos of Aiglon by embodying personal integrity and professionalism.
