Job Purpose

Aiglon College is renowned for providing a transformational holistic education in an inspiring setting while maintaining a safe, caring, and supportive environment. The school is CIS-accredited and serves students aged 7-18 from 70 nations. We aim to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work one-on-one with a senior school student with a neurodiverse learning profile. This role will focus on enhancing the student's access to the curriculum, fostering independence, and promoting social-emotional wellbeing within the senior school environment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to enable the student to access the curriculum and engage fully in learning activities.
  • Establish a positive, respectful, and supportive relationship with the student, promoting confidence and self-advocacy.
  • Support the student in developing organization and executive functioning skills, including time management and task prioritization.
  • Assist the student in understanding instructions and maintaining focus during lessons.
  • Promote the student’s social and emotional development with effective stress management strategies.
  • Encourage the student's increasing independence over time while providing appropriate support.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the Learning Support department to implement strategies during lessons.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all staff and relevant professionals, while upholding student confidentiality.
  • Engage in professional development related to neurodiversity and inclusive education.

Other Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement all school policies and procedures, especially regarding the safeguarding of children.
  • Participate in staff meetings and open evenings as required.
  • Assist in any other tasks as reasonably requested to aid the smooth running of the team.
