Job Purpose

Aiglon College is renowned for providing challenging and transformational holistic education in a supportive environment. We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a senior school student who has a neurodiverse learning profile. This role focuses on facilitating the student’s access to the curriculum and supporting their overall well-being.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support in a classroom setting and on a one-to-one basis to help the student engage fully in learning activities.
  • Establish a positive and respectful working relationship with the student, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Support the student in developing effective organization, planning, and executive functioning skills.
  • Assist the student in understanding instructions and maintaining focus during lessons.
  • Promote the student’s social and emotional development and help manage stress and workload.
  • Encourage increasing independence over time while providing appropriate scaffolding.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the Learning Support department to implement effective strategies.
  • Document and report on the student’s engagement and progress.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents.
  • Uphold the ethos of Aiglon by promoting its vision and aims through personal integrity and professionalism.

Other Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement all school policies, especially those regarding child safeguarding.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development and adhere to performance management principles.
  • Contribute to maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
