At the ETH Zurich Media and Methods Lab, we don't work in silos; we work in close co-design. Game designers, storytellers, programmers, and educational experts all pull together. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated individual who is eager to develop innovative learning experiences "hands-on" – from the initial idea to finished prototyping – especially regarding exciting new formats for the ETH Heilbronn location.
Your Role
As part of the Media and Methods Lab (MML) within the Unit for Teaching and Learning at ETH Zurich, you will design and create future-oriented, interactive teaching and learning experiences in multidisciplinary teams for ETH Zurich, with a primary focus on the virtual development of the new ETH Campus Heilbronn. The position is initially limited until the end of 2026, with the potential for extension.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
- Develops didactic concepts for digital media with a focus on Mixed/Virtual Reality and digital cooperation.
- Actively implements virtual modules through co-design – from the idea through prototyping to implementation – to create innovative learning experiences in collaboration with the multidisciplinary MML team (Audiovisual Media Design, Storytelling, Game Design, Programming) and various ETH departments.
- Takes the lead on project management and organization of sub-projects, contributing innovative ideas and developments.
- Has in-depth expertise in Learning Design (didactic integration of media, authoring tools, interaction).
- Presents practical experience in the production of digital learning modules at the university level.
- Demonstrates experience in the planning, structuring, and implementation of learning modules.
- Exhibits a genuine interest in scientific topics and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Communicates proficiently in both German and English.
- Possesses teaching experience and/or a formal teaching qualification.
- Is agile, quick to learn, and has a strong interest in media and tech developments.
- Holds a university degree in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of UI/UX Design or Interaction Design, along with a familiarity and interest in the daily use of AI tools will be considered a plus.
