Join Our Team as a Lead Warehouse Outbound (100%)
At STAAR Surgical, we are committed to ensuring on-time daily order preparation and shipments while continuously improving our logistics operations. We are currently seeking a motivated Lead Warehouse Outbound to join our dynamic team.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate resources efficiently to meet timelines, ensuring timely shipments to customers.
- Monitor forecast, workload, and team capacity to anticipate resource needs throughout the year.
- Collaborate with the Lead Warehouse Inbound or designee to organize the processing of physical inventory of finished products at the Brügg facility, ensuring accurate reporting of any discrepancies.
- Oversee accurate material transfers between various storage locations and virtual warehouses.
- Monitor and update Logistics KPIs related to Warehouse Operations, including OTIF, forecast monitoring, team productivity, and packaging customization.
- Co-lead daily briefing meetings to define priorities and address any obstacles.
- Ensure that logistics and material handling processes operate in accordance with SOPs and comply with safety regulations.
- Provide Lean guidance to the team to adopt streamlined operating methods, transitioning from a push to a pull model across the workflow.
- Act as a key player in the continuous improvement process, applying appropriate methodologies to analyze situations and propose effective solutions.
- Update QMS documentation by creating and following through on change orders, as necessary.
- Actively participate in internal and SOX audits.
- Back up the Logistics Project and Warehouse Lead in their absence.
Team Leadership
- Build and manage an effective team organization to handle logistics operations and inventory management.
- Recruit, train, lead, and develop team members.
- Support team members in developing poly-competencies.
- Structure the team with clear responsibilities, coordinate absences, and ensure effective backup management.
- Prepare and conduct performance reviews, analyzing the efficiency and effectiveness of team organization and performance.
- Ensure all team members are adequately trained on service SOPs, SOX, and company policies.
Project Involvement
- Actively participate in logistics-related projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when required.
- Support the implementation of the new ERP system by performing test scenarios, providing feedback on developed functionalities, and assisting with operator training.
- Undertake additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Your Profile
- Professional diploma in Logistics Operations is preferred; a diploma in Leadership is a plus, along with Green Belt certification.
- Strong understanding of GMP, GDP, and ISO 13485 Standards.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; knowledge of German, French, or any other language is advantageous.
- Proficient in IT skills (MS Office) and knowledgeable about ERP systems.
- Experience in Lean Management is a plus.
- Highly organized, proactive, service-oriented, interculturally competent, communicative, trustworthy, and reliable, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
