Job Overview

You will ensure the utmost guest satisfaction while communicating with our partners on the shore. This role involves coordinating all shore excursion activities, organizing guest entertainment programs, and adhering to our product manual and associated services. As a leader of the Travel Concierge team, you will train and supervise team members, acting as translators, local guides, and Viking ambassadors.

Responsibilities

  • Organize embarkation and disembarkation processes.
  • Ensure smooth operation of transfers to and from the vessel.
  • Coordinate with airport representatives and assist with guest travel logistics.
  • Handle and file cruise documentation, including reports and daily programs.
  • Manage and file vendor vouchers and onboard bookings.
  • Organize guest information documents such as city maps, brochures, and handouts.
  • Establish and present Welcome Briefings and entertainment activities (games, lectures, presentations) according to the cruise schedule.
  • Responsible for all public announcements, including commentary on scenic areas.
  • Address guest complaints and assist with private excursion requests. Provide recommendations for dining, shopping, and activities during free time.
  • Adhere to desk hours as specified in the cruise itinerary.
  • Coordinate all excursions and manage the Travel Concierge team effectively.
  • Liaise with local suppliers to reconfirm reservations, transportation, and guides.
  • Instruct and brief local guides before shore excursions.
  • Guide guests in designated cities, offering rich historical information.
  • Translate for local guides during assigned excursions.
  • Oversee the implementation and quality control of excursions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background in hotel or tourism management.
  • At least three years of professional experience in a management or guiding role.
  • International work experience, especially in the luxury hotel or ship industry, is a plus.
  • Excellent Mandarin (native) and fluent English skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in additional languages such as German or French is preferred.
  • Strong service-oriented and guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in managing and overseeing at least eight Travel Concierge members.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Exceptional management, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Positive demeanor with a friendly and polished presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain flexibility.
  • Experience in public speaking and delivering historical presentations.
  • Administrative capabilities, with skills in managing the financial aspects of the shore excursion department.
