Job Opportunity: Lead Software Architect
We are on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Lead Software Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall design and technical success of software projects, guiding them from initial concept through to delivery. Your work will ensure alignment with both business goals and technical requirements. This includes defining the system architecture, guiding development teams on implementation, and making key decisions on tools, frameworks, and technologies. Additionally, you will ensure scalability, security, and performance while collaborating with stakeholders and steering the project’s technical direction to guarantee client satisfaction and project success.

- You will be responsible for developing complex IT architectures in innovative software solutions while providing strategic-technological advice to our customers.
- You will manage teams from a technical perspective from kick-off to roll-out, maintaining close contact with the project management team.
- Your leadership skills will inspire and mobilize your project team and customers around innovative ideas.
- By coaching your team members in Software Engineering and Architecture, as well as in the application of agile principles, you will make a decisive contribution to various projects' success.
- You will further develop our Zühlke network of experts and engage in group-wide initiatives for the continuous improvement of software development.
What’s Important to Us
- You hold a degree (FH, Uni, ETH, or similar) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- You have at least five years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or Architect.
- You possess knowledge in developing highly available and secure cloud solutions and have expertise in software architectures and documentation, particularly in microservices and domain-driven design, as well as tools such as UML and Arc42.
- You are highly experienced in Backend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Apache Kafka), and ideally have Frontend experience (e.g., Angular or React).
- You are knowledgeable in DevOps/GitOps, particularly CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring, as well as security measures (e.g., OAuth2, OIDC, authentication, and authorization).
- You demonstrate strong leadership qualities and a coaching mentality, along with a growth mindset and the willingness to learn continuously.
- You are an excellent communicator, fluent in both German and English (minimum C1 level).
