LEAD JAVA ENGINEER
for the Software Development Team

YOUR TASKS
- Operational Management: Lead the Lucullus Java Development teams, ensuring smooth operational management and execution of software development tasks, consisting of both Java Developers and Frontend Developers.
- Team Leadership: Manage personnel, technical, and administrative aspects of the team.
- Resource Planning: Plan resource needs for the team to ensure efficient project execution.
- Product Development: Drive the development of our standard software products while ensuring high quality and performance.
- Customer Projects: Prioritize development activities in collaboration with the Product Owner Software and participate in customer-specific IT projects, providing 3rd level support for customers.
- Innovation and Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Emerging Trends: Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in backend development, incorporating relevant advancements into project strategies.
- Software Development Lifecycle: Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Coding Standards: Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines in backend development activities.
- General Tasks: Select suitable software tools, manage and supervise external capacities, and ensure comprehensive software and process documentation.
YOUR PROFILE
- Educational Background: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in Java development (at least 6 years) and leading teams (at least 3 years).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Java and related technologies, with a focus on raising the Java engineer level. Good knowledge of the Spring framework and RESTful services. Familiarity with database development (JDBC/Hibernate/JPA) is desirable. Experience with frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js) is a plus.
- Project Management: Experience in planning resource needs, prioritizing development activities, and participating in customer-specific IT projects.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure high-quality software development.
- Additional Skills: Experience with automation/communication protocols, (bio-)process engineering, Windows and Linux operating systems, and the Atlassian tool suite.
