Laboratory Technician

Roche Schweiz serves as a vital link between pharmacy and diagnostics, hosting significant research and development functions. We are currently seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician for our esteemed client, Roche Diagnostics International AG, located in Rotkreuz.

Background:

The Instrumental Analytics department plays a crucial role in Reagent Research and Design. Our team develops, validates, and implements a diverse range of analytical methods utilizing technologies such as Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, digital PCR, and FTIR microscopy. Alongside our routine activities, we actively engage in research projects that explore innovative approaches. We are looking for a Laboratory Technician (Research Assistant) who thrives in a hands-on, multi-technology environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with various analytical platforms and enhance your technical expertise across a multitude of instruments. You will be part of a collaborative team that values reliability, curiosity, and effective problem-solving.

The ideal candidate will have completed their training as a Laboratory Technician or hold a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field, with 2-3 years of laboratory experience. A curious and open mindset, coupled with a penchant for thinking beyond the conventional, is essential. You must also be a team player who communicates confidently in English. Experience in statistical data analysis and proficiency in German will be advantageous.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Plan analyses with guidance from supervisory staff
  • Prepare standards and samples
  • Conduct experiments using various instruments
  • Analyze data with support from supervisory staff
  • Document experimental procedures
  • Address issues proactively when challenges arise
  • Recommend subsequent steps based on data outcomes
  • Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency within assigned work packages
  • Organize and manage time effectively in the scope of assigned tasks
  • Order and maintain inventory of materials

Must Haves:

  • Completed education as a Lab Technician (Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology) or a Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment in either academic research or industry (Pharma, MedTech)
  • Initial experience with Liquid Chromatography (preferably PCR)
  • Basic experience in statistical data analysis and evaluation
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong enthusiasm for practical laboratory work
  • A multidirectional approach to problem solving
  • Team-oriented mindset
