Join the Tumor and Stem Cell Dynamics Lab

The Tumor and Stem Cell Dynamics Lab, led by Prof. Helmuth Gehart, is seeking a highly motivated laboratory technician to support our ongoing research efforts. We are based at the Institute of Molecular Health Sciences within the Department of Biology (D-BIOL) at the ETH Hönggerberg campus, part of the Life Science Campus of ETH Zurich.

About Our Research

Our lab merges diverse disciplines and techniques to tackle pressing questions in cancer and stem cell research. Utilizing a combination of organoid technology, microfluidics, patient samples, microscopy, in vivo models, genome engineering, single-cell analysis, and computational and molecular biology, we aim to uncover the intricate mechanisms of cancer cells and adult stem cells.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated laboratory technician to support our current projects. The key responsibilities include:

  • Organoid/tumoroid culture, maintenance, and characterization, including microscopy, RNA preparation, DNA preparation, histology, drug screening, and flow cytometry.
  • General support for ongoing research initiatives.

You will collaborate with an international team of researchers and engage in innovative projects within a highly motivating scientific environment.

Qualifications

  • A passion for contributing to cancer and stem cell research.
  • A willingness to take responsibility for complex tasks.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques.
  • A readiness to collaborate with lab members and support leading projects.
  • An eagerness to learn new techniques and experiment with ideas.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience with complex cell culture models (e.g., 3D culture) is a plus.
