Job Opportunity: Research Lab Scientist at Aimorphous Health AG

Aimorphous Health AG (www.aimorphous.health) is an emerging Swiss deep-tech startup, supported by the Regional Innovation System Basel-Jura. We are developing an AI-powered blood diagnostic device aimed at preventing and treating the leading causes of death and debilitation, ultimately striving for longevity, healthcare sustainability, and equity.

As we continue to expand our company, we are seeking a Research Lab Scientist to join our innovation and product development team in Basel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in method development, routine analysis, and the manufacturing of diagnostic products in the fields of thrombosis, hemostasis, and immunohematology, including blood product management.

Key Information About the Tasks

  • Conduct bioanalytical development in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Publication date: Immediate or by appointment.
  • Workload: 80 – 100%.
  • Contract type: Unlimited employment.
  • Place of work: Basel, Switzerland.
  • Manage sample storage, collection, conformity, and documentation.
  • Maintain lab systems, documentation, and compliance with quality standards (GxP, ISO 13485).
  • Collaborate on method and product development and manufacturing.
  • Perform administrative tasks and maintain laboratory operations according to quality standards and SOPs.
  • Conduct calculations and record results.
  • Write analytical reports.
  • Conduct clinical-chemical analyses.
  • Engage in assay development, verification, and validation.
  • Ensure project timelines are adhered to while maintaining financial budgets.
  • Oversee lab work during assay development and validation, ensuring scientific integrity and completeness of data.
  • Optimize internal processes to enhance efficiency and quality in R&D.
  • Contribute to SOPs and technical documentation in the QMS.

What You Bring to the Table

  • A degree as BMA HF, a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics, or a BSc/MSc in bioanalytics, Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics, or life technologies, preferably with experience in coagulation, hematology, hemostasis, or immunology.
  • A precise and responsible approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good command of German and English, both written and spoken (language level B2).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, reliable, cooperative, empathetic, eager to learn, and adaptable with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with customers easily.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant biochemical methods; statistical knowledge is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with GxP or ISO 13485 is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A drive to innovate and grow with a high-potential startup.
