Lab Cleaner 100% (m/w/d) – Cleaning

The Research & Development Services team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) is dedicated to managing R&D laboratories and associated equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and the smooth operation of local R&D laboratories. The Lab Cleaner will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of our BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and overseeing the stocking of common consumables within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS). This position will be based at the RDI campus located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

The Perfect Candidate

The ideal candidate has proven experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment, is physically fit, and is prepared to regularly lift heavy waste bins while working with potentially infectious biological material. They should possess B2-level proficiency in both German and English, along with strong skills in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Manages, oversees, and executes the following duties in the assigned BSL1 & BSL2:

• Primary Tasks:
  • Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan.
  • Waste management, including collection and disposal.
• Secondary Tasks:
  • Lab coat management, including adequate supply, collection, and cleaning.
  • Operation and monitoring of the dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves.
  • Maintaining a stock of common lab consumables.
  • Pipette calibration support.
  • Participation in on-call services for the CTU excursion.
  • Dry ice area cleaning.

Must Haves

• Willingness to work in the following conditions:
  • Physical requirements include standing, bending, and regularly lifting heavy waste bins.
  • Ability to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• German – B2 and English – B2 level proficiency.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Nice to Have

• Hep B vaccination (Can also be provided by Roche).
• Relevant experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment.
