Lab Cleaner 100% (m/w/d) – Cleaning

The Research & Development Services team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) oversees the management of R&D laboratories and associated equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient operations in local R&D laboratories. The Lab Cleaner will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness of our BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and overseeing the stocking of common consumables within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS). This position is based at the RDI campus in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

The Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate will have proven experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment, be physically fit, and be willing to regularly lift heavy waste bins and work with potentially infectious biological material. They should possess B2-level proficiency in both German and English, along with strong skills in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Primary Tasks:
  • Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan.
  • Waste management, including collection and disposal.
• Secondary Tasks:
  • Lab coat management, including adequate supply, collection, and cleaning.
  • Operation and monitoring of dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves.
  • Maintaining a stock of common lab consumables.
  • Pipettes calibration support.
  • Participating in the on-call services for the CTU excursion.
  • Dry ice area cleaning.

Must Haves

• Willingness to work under the following conditions:
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, and regularly lifting heavy waste bins.
• Ability to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• German – B2 and English B2 level.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Google Suite.

Nice to Have

• Hep B vaccination (can also be provided by Roche).
• Relevant experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment.
