Lab Cleaner 100% (m/w/d) – Cleaning

The Research & Development Services team at Roche Diagnostics International (RDI) is dedicated to managing R&D laboratories and associated equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and the smooth operation of local R&D facilities. We are currently seeking a Lab Cleaner who will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in our BSL1 and BSL2 laboratories, managing waste collection, and overseeing the stocking of common consumables within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS). This position is based at the RDI campus located in Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

The Perfect Candidate

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment, demonstrating a strong physical capability for lifting heavy waste bins and working with potentially infectious biological material. Proficiency in both German and English at the B2 level is necessary, along with strong skills in MS Excel and the Google Suite.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Primary Tasks:
  • Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan.
  • Waste management, including collection and disposal.
• Secondary Tasks:
  • Lab coat management, including adequate supply, collection, and cleaning.
  • Operation and monitoring of dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves.
  • Maintaining a stock of common lab consumables.
  • Pipettes calibration support.
  • Participation in the on-call services for the CTU excursion.
  • Cleaning the dry ice area.

Must Haves

• Willingness to work under the following conditions:
  • Physical requirements include frequent standing, bending, and lifting of heavy waste bins.
  • Ability to work with potentially infectious biological material.
• German and English language proficiency at B2 level.
• Proficient with MS Excel and Google Suite.

Nice to Have

• Hepatitis B vaccination (can be provided by Roche).
• Relevant experience in a cleaning or laboratory environment.
