Purpose of the Role
The Key Account Manager leads and drives the account strategy in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. This role requires a deep understanding of account needs and untapped business opportunities while exploring economic and clinical influences to enhance healthcare delivery and accelerate patient access.
As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing key accounts and specialists, fostering and extending relationships to meet sales targets. Your goal will be to develop a profound understanding of customer challenges related to patients and identify solutions that enhance patient care.
Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Driving sales, product promotion, and development within designated accounts and their respective referral networks to meet agreed sales and performance targets for the assigned territory.
- Developing customer development strategies, creating dedicated Key Account Management action plans for assigned accounts, aligning on objectives, and executing these plans.
- Leading the preparation of strategic initiatives and individual tactical plans, providing insights related to analysis, future potential, and key programs required for the accounts.
- Analyzing the market situation, including competitive intelligence activities focused on key accounts and competitors. Acting as a strategic scientific partner and collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to strengthen healthcare systems and enhance patient access and outcomes.
- Taking ownership and accountability for building a high-performing team while fostering a culture of openness, accountability, and trust.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- A university degree in business or life sciences.
- Full professional proficiency in German and English.
- 3+ years’ experience in Field Force, as a Key Account Manager, and/or Sales Representative in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with a focus on Oncology.
- In-depth knowledge of the Swiss customer and marketplace, understanding key dynamics and current awareness of competitors and their likely strategies within the Therapeutic Area.
- Knowledge of the Swiss Healthcare System.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills combined with an entrepreneurial mindset.
