Position: Junior IT Support Technician

We are in search of a motivated and service-oriented Junior IT Support Technician to provide day-to-day technical support to our students, faculty, and teams, addressing user requests and escalating issues when necessary. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals at the beginning of their IT career who are passionate about problem-solving, assisting others, and working with diverse technologies.

Working closely with the ICT Operations Manager and a collaborative team of four, you will have the chance to enhance your technical skills, contribute to various IT projects, and gain valuable experience. This entry-level role provides hands-on exposure across a wide range of IT systems within a supportive environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide first-line support to end users for device hardware, printers, audio/visual equipment, user access, software, core school applications, and network issues.
• Support basic configuration and troubleshooting of the school’s network, Wi-Fi, and firewall.
• Assist in maintaining IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and file systems.
• Manage school devices, including inventory and enrollment.
• Coordinate with external service providers as needed.
• Record and track support requests efficiently.
• Resolve incidents and service requests within required service level objectives.
• Provide support for school events regarding audio/visual equipment.
• Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of students and staff.
• Collaborate on IT projects under the guidance of the ICT Operations Manager, with opportunities to contribute to higher-level initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and school IT policies.
• Perform other IT tasks as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 1–2 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with Apple devices, including iPads and Macs.
• Exposure to Jamf Pro or another Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution is advantageous.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure components such as Active Directory, Windows, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a service-oriented mindset, enjoying the process of helping users resolve technical issues.
• Good communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small, multicultural team.
• A strong eagerness and motivation to learn and grow professionally.
• Previous experience in a school or educational environment is beneficial.
