Position: Junior IT Support Technician
We are seeking a motivated and service-oriented Junior IT Support Technician to join our team, providing day-to-day technical support to our students, faculty, and staff. This role is ideal for individuals at the beginning of their IT careers who enjoy problem-solving, helping others, and engaging with a diverse range of technologies. Your responsibilities will encompass user support, device management, school systems, networking, and audio/visual equipment.
Working closely with the ICT Operations Manager and a dynamic team of four, you will have the opportunity to enhance your technical skills, engage in IT projects, and gain invaluable experience in a collaborative setting. This entry-level position offers hands-on exposure to a wide array of IT systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support to end users for device hardware, printers, audio/visual equipment, user access, software, core school applications, and network issues.
- Assist with basic configuration and troubleshooting of the school’s network, Wi-Fi, and firewall.
- Help maintain IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and file systems.
- Manage school devices, including inventory and enrollment.
- Coordinate with external service providers as required.
- Record and track support requests effectively.
- Resolve incidents and service requests in line with service level objectives.
- Support school events related to audio/visual equipment.
- Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding of students and staff.
- Collaborate on IT projects under the direction of the ICT Operations Manager and contribute to higher-level initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and school IT policies.
- Perform other IT-related tasks as necessary.
Your Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
- Experience with Apple devices, such as iPads and Macs.
- Exposure to Jamf Pro or another Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution is a plus.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure components, including Active Directory, Windows, and Microsoft 365.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a service-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills in English; German language skills are an asset.
- Capability to work collaboratively within a small, multicultural team.
- A strong eagerness and motivation to learn and grow professionally.
- Experience within a school or educational environment is an advantage.
