Job Description
In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders from all areas of SMG, including Marketing, Advertising, Data, Product, Engineering, HR, and IT, as well as functional leads. As a member of the Data Protection Team, you will report to the Director of Legal & Compliance and work under the professional guidance of the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Your Responsibilities:
- Advise internal stakeholders and the business on data protection-related matters.
- Support data protection audits and monitor compliance.
- Ensure data subject access requests are handled and responded to compliantly.
- Maintain and update records of data processing activities.
- Assist the DPO in implementing and monitoring internal data protection policies and guidelines.
- Support the DPO in responses to data breaches.
- Advise on new projects, tools, and initiatives from a data protection perspective (e.g., Data Protection Impact Assessment, Transfer Impact Assessment).
- Draft and conduct employee training and awareness measures.
- Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, Controller agreements, and other data protection-related documents.
Qualifications
What will you bring to the table?
- University degree in Law, ideally complemented by additional training in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E or CAS).
- First professional experience in data protection.
- Strong interest in digital business and technical processes (e.g., internet, websites, online platforms) with a strong affinity for technology.
- Open-minded and independent personality with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience, including board members, data subjects, managers, IT staff, developers, and other legal professionals.
- Fluent in German and English (at least C1); good knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage.
