Job Description
In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders from all areas of SMG, including Marketing, Advertising, Data, Product, Engineering, HR, and IT, along with functional leads. As a member of the Data Protection Team, you will report directly to the Director of Legal & Compliance and work under the professional guidance of the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising internal stakeholders and the business on data protection-related matters.
- Supporting data protection audits and monitoring compliance.
- Ensuring data subject access requests are handled and responded to in a compliant manner.
- Maintaining and updating records of data processing activities.
- Assisting the DPO in implementing and monitoring internal data protection policies and guidelines.
- Supporting the DPO in data breach responses.
- Advising on new projects, tools, and initiatives from a data protection perspective (e.g., Data Protection Impact Assessment, Transfer Impact Assessment).
- Drafting and conducting employee training and awareness measures.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Data Processing Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, Controller agreements, and other data protection-related documents.
Qualifications
What will you bring to the table?
- A university degree in Law; ideally complemented by additional training in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E or CAS).
- First professional experience in data protection.
- A strong interest in digital business and technical processes (e.g., internet, websites, online platforms), combined with an affinity for technology and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams; a willingness to quickly acquire new knowledge in a dynamic environment.
- An open-minded and independent personality with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to work.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience, from the board of directors to data subjects, and from managers to IT staff and developers.
- Fluency in German and English (at least C1); good knowledge of French or Italian is an advantage.
