Join Our IPX Engineering Team in Bern

We are strengthening our IPX Engineering Team in Bern and are seeking a motivated and dedicated engineer to provide exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. As a technically oriented professional, you will have the opportunity to further develop your expertise in IPX technologies while adeptly managing daily challenges. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and develop Comfone's IPX signalling services and systems.
  • Implement and manage signalling links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to both customers and peers.
  • Enhance Comfone's IPX signalling network, ensuring reliable performance and scalability.
  • Proactively monitor the IPX signalling network and manage its capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues before they impact service.
  • Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and efficiently restore services.
  • Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.

Ideal Profile

  • A university degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a related field, with a strong understanding of Mobile Networks and protocols.
  • Experience operating STP, DRA, PGW, and HSS, as well as VAS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Deep knowledge of Mobile Network-related protocols and technologies, including SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, and DNS, as well as signalling routing and roaming.
  • Proficiency in using Wireshark/tcpdump and other industry-standard tracing/monitoring tools.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in operating mobile networks or IPX.
  • Knowledge of the 5G SA mobile network standards is a plus.
  • Ability to script in Python, Linux shell, and SQL, with familiarity with Linux systems being advantageous.
  • A dynamic, communicative, and customer-focused attitude, with a commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable service.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Willingness to work in Bern, Switzerland.
