We are enhancing our IPX Engineering Team in Bern and are seeking a motivated and dedicated engineer to deliver exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and develop the IPX signalling services and systems of Comfone.
- Implement and manage signalling links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers.
- Enhance Comfone's IPX signalling network to ensure reliable performance and scalability.
- Proactively monitor the IPX signalling network and manage its capacity to optimize performance and prevent issues before they impact service.
- Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
- Provide second-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.
Your Ideal Profile
- University degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a comparable field, with a strong understanding of mobile networks and protocols.
- Experience operating STP, DRA, PGW, HSS, and VAS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of mobile network-related protocols and technologies, including SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, and DNS, as well as signalling routing and roaming.
- Proficient in Wireshark, tcpdump, and other industry-standard tracing/monitoring tools.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in operating mobile networks or IPX.
- Knowledge of the 5G SA mobile network standards is a plus.
- Ability to script in Python, Linux shell, and SQL; familiarity with Linux systems is advantageous.
- Dynamic, communicative, and customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Willingness to work in Bern, Switzerland.
