We are enhancing our IPX Engineering Team in Bern and seeking a motivated and dedicated engineer to provide exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and develop the IPX signalling services and systems of Comfone.
  • Implement and manage signalling links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers.
  • Enhance Comfone's IPX signalling network to ensure reliable performance and scalability.
  • Proactively monitor the IPX signalling network and manage its capacity for optimal performance, preventing issues before they affect service.
  • Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
  • Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.

Your Ideal Profile

  • University degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or a related field with a strong understanding of Mobile Networks and protocols.
  • Experience in operating STP, DRA, PGW, and HSS, along with VAS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Deep knowledge of Mobile Network-related protocols and technologies, including SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, and DNS, as well as signalling routing and roaming.
  • Proficiency in Wireshark/tcpdump and other industry-standard tracing/monitoring tools.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in operating mobile networks or IPX.
  • Knowledge of 5G SA mobile network standards is a plus.
  • Ability to script in Python, Linux shell, and SQL, with Linux system knowledge considered an advantage.
  • Dynamic, communicative, and customer-focused, committed to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to work in Bern, Switzerland.
