Position Overview: Investor Relations Associate

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and analytical Investor Relations Associate to join our growing team. This role requires a solid foundation in financial analysis, accounting, valuation, and modeling, as well as a thorough understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks. Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector is a significant advantage.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to collaborate closely with senior leadership, shaping Lonza’s communications with investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of investor materials, including quarterly/semi-annual earnings presentations, scripts, press releases, and Q&A documents.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including finance, legal, communications, and Business Platforms—as well as senior management to ensure alignment and consistency in investor messaging and disclosures.
  • Assist in supervising and responding to investor inquiries, in coordination with other senior members of Lonza.
  • Coordinate with ESG rating providers to gather and provide necessary data, with the goal of enhancing Lonza’s rating performance by supporting improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, peer benchmarking, and valuation modeling to support investor messaging and positioning.
  • Assist in organizing investor events, earnings calls, roadshows, and conferences.
  • Monitor analyst reports, shareholder feedback, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic investor relations initiatives.
  • Maintain and update IR databases, investor targeting lists, and engagement logs.

Key Requirements

  • 4-5 years of professional experience in investor relations (preferred) or in capital markets, equity research, investment banking, corporate finance, or similar analytical roles.
  • Strong financial competence, including accounting knowledge and advanced financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, SOTP, comps, M&A multiples).
  • Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill sophisticated financial information for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ESG topics and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with financial databases (Bloomberg, FactSet, CapIQ) is a plus.
  • Meticulous, highly organized, and independent, capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience or familiarity with the healthcare or pharmaceutical sector is beneficial but not required.
  • MBA with finance-related focus or a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CFA or progress toward CFA/CPA is a plus.
