Internal Auditor
Location: Basel, Switzerland.

For our small but impactful internal audit team, we are seeking a highly motivated and talented auditor or audit manager. Your role will involve supporting or leading internal audit assignments within the Lonza Group, while deepening your understanding of the business and enhancing your expertise for a potential line management career.
Lonza Audit Services (LAS) provides the board and management with independent, risk-based, and objective assurance, advice, insight, and foresight. This function operates independently with direct accountability to the Board, collaborating with management to review activities within the organization. LAS reports observations, risks, and recommendations to audited parties, senior management, the Executive Committee, and the Audit & Compliance Committee.
This role is primarily based on-site, where close, real-time collaboration is essential for maintaining the technical precision required in the production of medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer the flexibility to work remotely for up to 20% of your time. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, according to business needs.

What You Will Do:
- Deliver and lead internal audit engagements by planning, executing, and reporting on assigned audits; manage complex reviews including consulting/advisory assignments, special projects, and strategic initiatives across operational areas.
- Collaborate and lead effectively within audit teams by supporting colleagues as an auditor and, when acting as a team leader, coaching, supervising, and developing team members throughout engagements.
- Communicate audit outcomes effectively by presenting results to stakeholders and producing clear, concise reports that articulate key findings, root causes, and associated risks.
- Enhance audit effectiveness through data and technology by partnering with internal experts to leverage data analytics and SAP configuration reviews, contributing to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and processes.
- Engage with stakeholders across the organization to promote best practices and drive the standardization and harmonization of processes and controls in collaboration with global process owners.
- Monitor and report on issue remediation by following up on audit recommendations and supporting transparent reporting of open and overdue actions to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement within Internal Audit by leading initiatives and contributing to broader projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of the function.
What We Are Looking For:
- A Master's degree, preferably in finance or accounting; a degree in chemistry or a similar field is also welcome.
- 3+ years of internal audit experience, complemented by hands-on experience in operations or project delivery (e.g., project management experience with a solid understanding of project lifecycles, governance, and execution risks).
- Extensive experience in executing assignments in compliance with international auditing standards and an excellent understanding of standard business processes like S2P, OTC, R2R with solid know-how of SAP.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- A passion for leveraging AI and digital tools, along with knowledge of ETL concepts and familiarity with SQL, Python programming, and/or Power BI dashboards is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, a risk-focused approach, a target and deadline orientation, results-driven mentality, and a motivation as a self-starter.
