About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented auditor or audit manager (depending on level of experience) to join our impactful internal audit team. In this role, you will support or lead internal audit assignments within the Lonza Group, allowing you to deepen your understanding of the business and develop expertise for a line management career.
Role / Main Responsibilities
- Auditor Role: Prepare, execute, and conduct assigned internal audit activities.
- Manager Role: Plan, lead, and deliver internal audit assignments, including consulting engagements and special projects across various operational areas such as sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and more.
- Support and cooperate with the audit team, while training, supervising, and guiding team members and/or outsourced experts.
- Present audit results to stakeholders and prepare clear and concise audit reports that effectively communicate key findings and associated risks.
- Work with internal experts to optimize audit preparations and execution, utilizing data analytics and SAP configuration reviews.
- Engage in discussions with the finance organization and global process owners to share best practices and promote standardization of processes and controls.
- Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and support reporting on open and overdue issues to top management.
- Lead initiatives and contribute to internal activities and projects to constantly optimize the Internal Audit function.
Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills
- Master's degree, preferably in finance or accounting; degrees in chemistry or similar fields are also welcome.
- Three or more years of external audit experience, preferably in manufacturing industries; CPA or equivalent qualification (ACCA, CA) highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in executing assignments in compliance with international auditing standards; strong understanding of business processes such as S2P, OTC, and R2R, along with solid knowledge of SAP.
- Basic knowledge of IT fundamentals, with competence in executing audits of operational and finance activities utilizing specialized applications.
- A passion for leveraging AI and digital tools; familiarity with SQL, Python programming, and/or Power BI dashboards is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills, risk-focused, detail-oriented, and results-driven; a motivated self-starter.
- A strong team player and very good communicator, with leadership potential for further career development within the Lonza Group after 3-4 years in internal auditing.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
Location and Work Environment
This position is based at our Basel Headquarters, with relocation necessary; home office is limited to a maximum of two days per week.
