Position Overview
The Instrumentation & Electrics Professional for afternoon and evening shifts is accountable for maintaining and repairing low voltage electrical systems and performing basic metrology tasks at our Lengnau facility. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of electrical systems and controls, conducting routine calibrations, and supporting manufacturing operations while adhering to GMP standards. This position is specifically for afternoon and evening activities between 13:00 – 22:00, Monday to Friday.
Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Electrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on low voltage electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Basic Metrology Tasks: Conduct basic metrology tasks, including routine calibrations of electrical instruments, sensors, and equipment, following SOPs and GMP standards.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve electrical and metrology issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Documentation: Document all maintenance and calibration activities, including repairs and inspections, in accordance with GMP standards.
- Support Manufacturing: Assist in maintaining electrical systems and metrology equipment critical to manufacturing operations, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Ensure all maintenance and calibration activities follow GMP standards and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance team leads and other team members to coordinate maintenance and calibration activities and priorities.
Quality
- Adhere to cGMP rules, Quality policies, procedures, and instructions as established by the Quality function and endorsed by site management.
- Actively contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and deviation reporting and follow-up.
EHSS
- Adhere to general safety rules, policies, procedures, and instructions as laid out by the EHSS functions and endorsed by site management.
- Contribute to safety initiatives, issue reporting, and near miss follow-up.

Position Qualifications
Education
- Technical diploma or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Metrology, or a related field.
- Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ) as an Electrician or equivalent certification recognized in Switzerland to perform electrical work by Swiss Law and standards.
- Additional certification in metrology or calibration is preferred.
Experience & Competences
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance and calibration, preferably in a GMP manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining and calibrating instrumentation and control systems.
- Strong understanding of GMP standards and calibration practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong attention to detail in documenting activities in compliance with GMP standards.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, walking, and lifting of materials and equipment.
- Ability to work in cleanroom environments, following all GMP and safety regulations.
- Availability to support the on-call team for 24/7 support.
- Availability to work the afternoon and evening shift (Mon-Fri, 13:00-22:00).
