Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Paper & Board

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to take on the role of Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager within our Paper and Board division. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive front-end innovation and technical marketing strategies in a thriving industry.

Responsibilities

Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)

  • Agile management of the front-end innovation process (idea generation, screening, portfolio management) to achieve proof-of-concept.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation Management & Partnership team to lead Basket of Ideas (BoI), Voice of Customers (VoC), or other future programs, ensuring a robust development funnel filled with strong, market-worthy ideas.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of ideas, focusing on technical and market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and potential benefits for the company.
  • Define compelling technical value propositions and create engaging technical marketing content including presentations, white papers, and case studies.
  • Develop marketing strategies and value propositions to effectively support product launches.
  • Facilitate training programs for Sales and Marketing teams on product technical features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Identify technical, commercial, or business model gaps in the portfolio and propose innovative initiatives.
  • Ensure optimal conversion of ideas and pipeline into actionable projects.

Leading Without Authority

  • Lead large cross-functional project teams and engage stakeholders to achieve established innovation goals.
  • Promote transparency among project team members to foster heightened engagement.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing across functions, enabling team members to learn from one another.
  • Establish a performance-oriented mindset and cultivate a culture of continuous growth.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a relevant subject area; a Master’s Degree in Economics, Business, or Finance is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience; international work experience is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Paper and Board, converting, or fiber processing markets.
  • Strong innovation mindset and a keen sense of unmet market needs and the market value of developed solutions.
  • Proven Project Management skills with a track record of successful execution of complex projects.
  • Outstanding leadership and communication abilities to effectively engage with project team members from diverse backgrounds and all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
  • Capability to take measured risks and aggressively pursue new ideas.
  • Excellent command of both oral and written English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
