Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Paper & Board
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will drive the front-end innovation process and develop market-driven concepts that enhance our product offerings in the Paper and Board sector.
Responsibilities
Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)
- Manage the front-end innovation process, including idea generation, screening, and portfolio management to achieve proof-of-concept.
- Lead programs such as the Basket of Ideas (BoI) and Voice of Customers (VoC) in collaboration with the Innovation Management & Partnership team, ensuring a rich development funnel of market-worthy ideas.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of ideas, focusing on technical/market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and potential benefits to Omya.
- Define technical value propositions and create compelling technical marketing content, such as presentations, white papers, and case studies.
- Develop impactful value propositions and marketing strategies to support successful product launches.
- Facilitate training programs for Sales and Marketing teams on product features, advantages, and benefits.
- Identify gaps in the technical, commercial, and business model areas within the portfolio and propose innovative initiatives.
- Ensure optimal conversion of ideas and project pipelines.
Leading Without Authority
- Lead large cross-functional project teams and engage with stakeholders to attain established innovation goals.
- Provide transparency to project team members to foster engagement and collaboration.
- Encourage open knowledge sharing across functions to enable team members to learn from one another.
- Establish a performance-oriented mindset and a culture of growth within the team.
Requirements
- A University Degree in engineering, chemistry, or a relevant subject. A Master's degree in economics, business, or finance is advantageous.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience; international work experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the Paper and Board, converting, or fiber processing market.
- An innovative mindset with a keen awareness of unmet market needs and the value of developed solutions.
- Proven project management skills with a track record of successfully executing complex projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse project team members.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
- A willingness to take measured risks and pursue new ideas with vigor.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; additional language skills are a bonus.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time is required.
