Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Paper & Board
We are seeking an experienced Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager to drive our initiatives in the Paper and Board sector. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership skills to foster innovation and deliver market-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)
- Agile management of the front-end innovation process, including idea generation, screening, and portfolio management, to achieve proof-of-concept outcomes.
- Lead programs such as the Basket of Ideas (BoI) and Voice of Customers (VoC), working alongside the Innovation Management & Partnership team to ensure a robust development funnel filled with valuable market ideas.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of ideas encompassing technical and market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and identification of potential benefits for our organization.
- Define compelling technical value propositions and develop impactful marketing content, including presentations, white papers, and case studies.
- Create and implement marketing strategies to support successful product launches.
- Facilitate training programs for Sales and Marketing teams, focusing on established product features, advantages, and benefits.
- Identify gaps in technical, commercial, and business models within the portfolio and propose innovative initiatives to address them.
- Ensure optimal conversion of ideas within the pipeline.
Leading Without Authority
- Lead cross-functional project teams and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve predefined innovation goals.
- Provide transparency to project team members to enhance engagement and commitment.
- Promote knowledge sharing across functions to enable team members to learn from one another.
- Foster a performance mindset and a culture conducive to growth and development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field; a Master’s degree in economics, business, or finance is a plus.
- 5-10 years of relevant industry experience; international work experience is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of the Paper and Board, converting, or fiber processing markets.
- Innovative mindset with a keen awareness of unmet market needs and the market potential of developed solutions.
- Proven project management skills with a successful track record of executing complex projects.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with project team members across diverse backgrounds and levels.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
- Able to take measured risks and aggressively develop new ideas.
- Exceptional command of both oral and written English is required, with additional language skills being beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
