Summary

We are excited to invite applications for our Data Science Innovation Fellowship track of the Novartis Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.

About the Role

This applied research program aims to transform drug discovery, providing fellows with a remarkable opportunity to train in Data Science and AI as applied to biomedical research. As a fellow, you will harness your quantitative and computational skills to create impactful solutions for patients and reimagine the future of medicine at Novartis.

As part of the Data Science Innovation Fellowship track, you will join a dynamic and supportive postdoctoral community, partaking in events such as monthly seminars and scheduled gatherings. Surrounded by a collaborative network of postdocs and scientists, you'll accelerate your scientific growth while building a robust professional skill set. Moreover, you will have the chance to engage in a Postdoc Practicum within another laboratory or a business function at Novartis. This program spans three years.

Recognized as a team sport, drug hunting involves gaining proficiency in Data Science and AI as part of a multi-disciplinary team in Biomedical Research. You will spearhead innovation by deploying advanced data approaches in collaboration with a diverse community of over 300 data scientists around the globe. The program offers a unique platform to work with large-scale biomedical data typically inaccessible in academia. Embrace this opportunity to be at the forefront of Data Science and AI, influencing the future landscape of drug discovery!

This project focuses on human genetics-driven target discovery for immunological diseases. The successful candidate will establish a pipeline of statistical and machine learning models to identify causal variants, map them to potential target genes, and describe possible underlying mechanisms. This pipeline will be applied to explore immune system-driven diseases, ideating novel drug targets and experimentally testing them.

Through the Novartis Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, you will enhance your capabilities as a drug hunter and a scientific leader. You will connect with a professional network supporting your growth as a research scientist while addressing diseases and making a meaningful impact in the field of medicine.
