As a member of the Innovation Management team, you will drive impactful and scalable product innovation across the company, ensuring that our Innovation efforts are strategically aligned with On’s direction. In the role of Innovation Portfolio Manager, you will focus on the Sustainability strategic pillar, dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint.
Your Team
You will be part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial Innovation Management team—comprised of strategic doers and skilled professionals committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and product innovation across the organization. Our team amplifies business and commercial strategies, serving as advisors to the Innovation Team throughout the ideation and product creation processes. We assess the business impact of new projects, define partnerships with strategic players, and take ownership of the rollout for key innovation initiatives across the organization.
Your Mission
Your mission is to ensure that the Innovation Portfolio aligns strategically with On’s Sustainability goals. You will achieve this by maintaining a deep understanding of both Sustainability and Product Innovation, effectively serving as a bridge between the two realms. Your priorities include:
- Identifying high-potential innovation opportunities to reduce our product’s environmental footprint.
- Facilitating strategic discussions.
- Ensuring the successful execution of innovative and sustainable projects.
Your ability to manage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders is essential for driving successful initiatives.
As an Innovation Management Senior Lead, you will:
- Lead and manage the strategic pillar focused on reducing our environmental footprint within the Innovation Portfolio, in alignment with On’s Sustainability strategy and Long Range Plan.
- Act as project manager for innovation concepts and high-impact technologies within this pillar, successfully guiding cross-functional project teams from ideation through to implementation.
- Serve as a sparring partner for various functions within the Sustainability team (e.g., Circularity, Strategy, and Materials), as well as Product Strategy, to align on priorities, assess partnerships, and define strategies that align with the Innovation Portfolio.
- Represent Innovation at On’s Sustainability Taskforce and collaborate effectively with members from Sustainability, Product Creation, Product Strategy, Sourcing, and Design departments, serving as a catalyst to drive the implementation of impactful and scalable sustainability initiatives.
- Act as a sustainability ambassador within the innovation team, promoting awareness and integrating sustainability priorities and practices.
- Assess and advise on the business impact of new partners and innovations, preparing business cases for the rollout and scaling of emerging technologies.
- Build and manage relationships with strategic innovation partners, defining collaboration and legal frameworks, and leading negotiations.
Your Story
- MBA, M.A., or M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Innovation Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience driving product innovation, sustainability initiatives, or similar roles in Innovation portfolio management.
- Expertise in building strategies and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative sustainability initiatives.
- Strong understanding of key business drivers, with the ability to translate strategies into actionable implementations tailored to business needs.
- Comfortable making complex decisions and providing guidance to others, while effectively identifying underlying issues and root causes to deliver solutions for complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and influencing others to embrace new ideas and approaches.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment, proactively driving product initiatives that have a large impact on the organization.
- A robust network of product innovation partners and collaborators.
