Position Overview
We are seeking an Indirect Tax Specialist to join an international finance team focused on ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations across various jurisdictions. Main Responsibilities
- Ensure indirect tax compliance for assigned countries by preparing, reviewing, and submitting indirect tax returns (VAT/GST, Intrastat, etc.).
- Review and analyze indirect tax compliance data across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support and participate in multi-country indirect tax audits and requests from local tax authorities.
- Handle additional indirect tax topics, including taxes related to food products where necessary.
- Perform VAT rate determination for assigned countries.
- Support internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Financial Controlling, etc.).
- Participate in and support indirect tax-related projects.
- Ensure internal working processes are implemented, updated, and continuously improved.
- Prepare reconciliations between indirect tax filings, ERP systems, and other reporting tools.
- Support payment and refund processes.
- Initiate and contribute to process improvements.
- Perform other indirect tax-related tasks assigned by the Indirect Tax Manager.
Your Profile
You are a detail-oriented and analytical tax professional who enjoys working in a dynamic and international environment. With the ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex data, you thrive in cross-functional collaborations. You seek a long-term role, valuing stability, technical depth, and continuous learning over rapid career advancement.
Must-Haves
- Relevant university degree (BSc/MSc) in economics, business administration, law, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on professional experience in indirect tax/VAT compliance.
- Experience in indirect tax compliance across multiple countries (domestic/Switzerland-only VAT experience is insufficient).
